With only 8 [or 9 depending on where you're at] days remaining till Jobs' next little big thing launches I think we'll be seeing more and more crazy shit. Anyway there isn't really anything too special about the iPhone [settle down fanboys and girls]. I blogged about this way back when it was announced and I'm saying it again wait for version 2 when Jobs figures out that...

#1 A user replaceable battery is a must for any mobile. It's just silly to have an internal main power source. So what happens after a year when the battery starts to conk out from wear and tear you can't buy an extra batt you'd have to bring it in for service hogwash!
#2 That UMTS [aka 3G/3.5G] is a MUST for any high end connected device. USD 600 and you get GPRS/EDGE please shoot yourself in the face if you fall for this crap! Others may argue that AT&T hasn't fully rolled-out their network YET, well they are rolling it out and any device you put out with that price tag should be future proof [to an extent of course]
#3 A hardware keypad or keyboard may not be a bad idea. Heck it's been working for ages.
#4 A lanyard loop is a great idea for something that looks so slippery. Handstrap/Neckstrap required if I may say so.
#5 Having heaps of internal storage is not enough, an SD card slot [reg/mini/micro doesn't matter] offers us expansion and sharing options that WWAN, WLAN, PAN might not be the best ways of sharing [i.e. it would take ages to email a 2MP image through GPRS/EDGE and even sending it via Bluetooth would take a lot of time].

Still I must express 1 thing I believe it's over-priced and under spec'd but it will SELL. Sell so well in fact that I'm already excited for version 2 where hopefully they correct their blunders [and there will be blunders, c'mon it's first gen]. The iPhone is tempting but not tempting enough, I'll pass on this one Steve [unless someone gives one to me unlocked and for free of course hahahahaha].
