I was playing with “Find My Phone” feature on iCloud.com recently and I noticed that it was using the wrong time. The Lost Mode email I checked my iCloud account My device time and region settings Judging by the time in the email, iCloud / FMF is ignoring my account and device settings and using Cupertino Time instead of Manila Time. Just playing around with the erase iPhone feature of Find My iPhone on iCloud.com Remember: If you delete an iOS7 device via iCloud or Find My iPhone, Activation Lock will be active until you input your AAPL ID & PW or you remove it from your device list in iCloud.

It used to be that you could select which items you can sync to Outlook (I used to sync only contacts to Outlook on my machine) now it seems Apple has removed this option and you have to sync everything to Outlook. Less options = no fun.  I hope they bring the item selection back in future versions of this application. 

Here’s how to setup iCloud Email on an Android or other device… Start the Email Client and enter your credentials username = youricloudemail@me.com password = yourpassword Next! Incoming Mail Settings server = imap.mail.me.com port = 993 security type = SSL imap path prefix = blank Next! Outgoing Mail Settings server = smtp.me.com port = 587 security = TLS require sign-in = check, and enter your iCloud credentials again. Next Rename the account and add a display name. There you have it iCloud email on your Android (or other device). I hope this helps.

This short tutorial shows how to sync iCloud contacts to your Android device. you will need an app to do this. It's called CardDAV-Sync free beta https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.dmfs.carddav.sync I chose to go 1 way sync with my iPhone being the primary device.

I recommend you backup your iCloud contacts using Export feature of Outlook to a pst and/or CSV file before updating.

So you moved to AAPL's snazzy new iCloud service, if you value your data you wouldn't trust everything to the cloud. One of the most important things for me though is my Contacts list or Address book.  So install the iCloud desktop app and turn on the items you want. I will be changing my pw and will not be giving it out anymore. sorry :'( Since iOS5 release is imminent (Fall 2011) and it has iCloud features for syncing PIM etc I would like to prevent contamination of PIM data and to maximize my use of the feature set of the iPhone. Consider getting a FREE iCloud account and your own Apple ID. This way you not only get the benefits of iOS but also get to support devs as well.
