Last Day at the Office '05

Okay this is my last day at the office for this year. I'll be off to Tagaytay till the December the 31st, then off to Hong Kong on January 1st to the 6th. There will be no internet connection in Tagaytay and I probably won't be spending HK$'s to get internet access in our flat in Hong Kong. So I might post using e-mail while I'm in Tagaytay [I'm sure it will be boring as hell... it always is]. Really torn about Hong Kong though... I'm thrilled that I will be able to go gadget shopping, plan to buy a new PPC/PE [probably a Qtek 9100 or Dopod 838 ], of course I'd have to get a new memory card [since the new PPC/PE I'm eyeing uses miniSD ], I also plan to get a new Bluetooth Dongle [v2.0 standard] since my old MSI one really needs to be replaced [it's still Bluetooth v1.0], I also plan to buy a Stereo Bluetooth Headset . Wow! That is a lot [3 out of 5 of my Wishlist] I hope my budget fits.... Shit! I just realized my shopping list is a testament to my

Triple Celebration!!!

Went to AAs tonight for a Triple Celebration! -- Anna's Birthday -- Cel's Birthday -- Chups' Despedida -- A super fun gimmick [although another patron of AA's clearly drunk was fucking up the vibe a bit...]! Sadly I forgot to charge my camera... ended up with only a few pics... also had to leave early cause I've work tomorrow, sometimes I wish I weren't so uptight with work but what can you do? We ain't kids anymore and that's life I guess. To Anna and Cel : Happy Birthday! Ang ganda ng mga buhok nyo. ish-straight na ish-straight ! Mwahahahahaha! Pero bagay naman e :P To Chups : Bon Voyage! We might not see each other before you leave so ingats and go with the Force. -- >>Link to Online Album<<

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday -- Celeste Claudine Estrella [aka NO MORE BROKEN PROMISES hahaha!] -- May the Force Be With You...

Home Alone

I've been Home Alone since yesterday am. No goof-ball burglars or anyhting like that hehehe. I must say I enjoy the peace and quiet. It does get pretty boring at times though. Good thing I installed a lot of games on my notebook. Was also able to catch up on my 'Music Reviews' and uploading stuff to my dA page. So far the only downside is in the food department. Last night I had a McDonalds Quarter Pounder meal for dinner [I was full but it wasn't satisfying at all]. Haven't eaten yet today. Still thinking of what I should eat... Pizza maybe or I could order Chinese food. Leaning more on the Chinese food though... I think I'm a 'soup' person... I love soup [my grandma tells me it's a Chinese trait, dunno what the basis for that is :P] I'll probably eat later or just pack it all in for dinner... I figured 'my whole family [read as officemates ] are off in Tagaytay', so I decided to go in for work [albeit this is the latest I've ever b

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy Birthday -- Anna Celdran -- May the Force Be With You...

Poker Night...

Ok since there was no place to go last night I invited some friends over for some poker. We played 2 games... Wesley and Zalveen's Dad took 1st and 2nd place in game one. For the 2nd game I took 1st and Yap 2nd. Wow I finally won in Poker... still can't believe it. Shots, Ary and V stuck around for some drinks and we chatted till around 4am. Never knew Scotch and Sprite would taste so good together [Ok Veran's mix was 1 part Scotch and around 5 parts Sprite so it tasted like juice hehe! :D I can't drink for sh*t].

Review|Ibiza Summer Party (2005)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Various Artists Ok it's waaaaay past summer but to me music transcends 'seasons' anyway I'm not sure who did the song selection for this compilation but it's pretty good. A bit of Dance, House, Trance in there so there's something for everyone:) -- I really like old songs re-worked, sampled or re-mixed and this compilation has some of those too. Track 1 has U2's 'Pride In the Name of Love' sampled , Easy Lover is another 80's hit reworked. I also like Fuel's If You Leave Me Now [this one's originally from Toto right?]. I'm sure some of these are old songs as well maybe I just haven't heard them yet. There are also new sounding songs [hey I really can't tell anymore if they are remixes/reworks/originals] Also of note is AvB's Shivers [a song that I personally love~this one I know is new hehehe] Overall I like this album :)

Catching up...

Right... since it's been a really slow and boring day I decided to catch up on my hobbies... theme making and reviewing music. -- I finished uploading my work on deviantART [dA] so my Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Windows Smartphone and Pocket PC themes are all up there and available for download. Check out my dA page if you're interested. -- Direct Link to my deviantART page. You can also access it via My Links under my BLOG MENU -- I added a few more reviews of some of the albums I had in my Music library... give em a read if you're looking for new songs to add to your portable media player. -- Direct Link to my Music Reviews index. You can also access it via My Reviews under my BLOG MENU -- I really hope we have a gimmick tonight! Batong bato na ko dito sa bahay!!! -- Maybe I'll take a nap first. Laters...

Review|Hed Kandi Mix 2006 (2005)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Various Artists If you like house music get this album! Again the folks at Kandi don't dissappoint with this 3CD compilation. I'm sure we'll be hearing more of these tracks at clubs pretty soon... I'm going to name my favourite tracks from each CD [there are too many nice tracks and I am quite tried already this is my 7th review for the day] from CD 1 [Disco Heaven] are great! However my favorite is Love Generation [Full Intention Mix] ~ I love this song! From CD2 [Twisted Disco] my fav is Avalon [F*ck Me I'm Famous Mix] and from the bonus disc [Back to Love] it's Feel Like Singin' [Def Classic Mix] .

Review|Listen to Your Heart (2005)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: DHT I've said it before and I'll say it again the 80's are coming back with a vengeance [good thing the hair and paddings haven't come back yet] but for the dance music scene I really feel that the 80's is sending shockwaves already... I mean we've seen a lot of mixes and re-mixes of old 80's tunes into floor filling, booty shaking, hands clapping dance tunes. Well DHT's album Listen to Your Heart capitalizes on this 80's craze. The single Listen to Your Heart an 80's hit from Roxette [I think] made me want to listen to the whole album and to my surprise it wasn't that bad at all. I dunno if this will be received properly though and I fear that soon it may find it's way as a mainstay on the soundtracks of flaky local noon time shows [there is a chance don't you think]. IMO apart from a few dull songs this is a pretty solid dance album.

Review|Forever Faithless (2005)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Faithless Faithless is such a class act! I mean they've really made their mark on the Electronic-Dance scene with Insomnia and God is a DJ , but when you listen to this album you will discover that they have brilliant and I mean BRILLIANT song writting skills. Listen to this album and pay attention to the lyrics [i.e. Miss you less, See you more ]. FANTASTIC!

Review|Conjure One (2002)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Conjure One I reviewed Extra Ordinary Ways a few weeks back and well just couldn't get enough of Conjure One so I decided to get the self titled album Conjure One as well. And boy am I uber glad I did! It even comes with a bonus CD of remixes... so sulit talaga! If you don't have this album in your collection you are missing out! Nuf said!

Review|The Chill Out Project - Sisters of the Sun (2005)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Various Artists Right moving on... here's a compilation from Anton Ramos... pretty solid selection here. I mean the first track Earthbound really sets the mood for this album... The song selection is pretty solid... put this on permanent rotation on your mediaplayer when you want to enjoy a nice novel by the poolside or at the beach waiting for the sunset [or sunrise]. Kewl!

Review|The Chill House Sessions (2005)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Various Artists It's been a very laid back [you may even call it SLOW couple of days... yo wala bang gimmick?!] anyway chillin' at home ain't so bad if you have this album... I mean it really is relaxin' well not to the point of making you want to take a nap. I do however feel that this should be listened to at a nice little bar instead of here at home [feeling like a loser here!] yo let's go out let's not waste the break from the daily rat race.

Review|The Best of Delerium (2004)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Delerium I've been listening to a lot of down-tempo and ambient recently and well what would the experience be without taking note of Delerium ... this super duo of Rhyss and Fulber have definitely made their mark on the Electronic Dance music scene. And I must say I really dig this album. Give this album a listen and you won't regret it. -- Tracks to watch: Paris (feat Aude) [reminded me somewhat of Pachelbel's Canon in D] Truly (feat Nerina Pallot) [fantastic] Incantation (feat Kristy Thirsk) After all (Feat. Jaël) Run for it (Feat. Leigh Nash) You & I (Feat. Zoe Johnston) Silence (feat Sarah McLachlan)(Above & Beyond 21st Century Mix) [this song still appears in many a trance compilations] -- Delerium Rocks!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!!! -- May Joy, Peace and Happiness fill your hearts... :) -- Go With the FORCE...

Veran's Birthday Bash [Updated]

Venue: Veran Residence, QC -- Had a lot of laughs at V's Birthday Bash... Took a few pics but have a very entertaining video [diba Anna?] hehehe :o) Veran pa send ng pics hehe! -- Great food, drinks over flowing, a lot of fun! Office Christmas Party

Ok we had our annual Christmas Party at the office. The food was great [syempre my lola cooked it e!]. Made a short speech and let the 'hosts' take it away after that. It's nice to see our employees smiling and having fun and joining the games. Had to leave early though cause I wanted to get to Veran's Birthday Bash. To our employees... Let's work harder so we can play harder... :P

More Model Than Mobile

Motorola's V3 Phone [aka RAZR] which came out in silver, then in black, then in pink and now... GOLD! Yup DOLCE & GABBANA in cooperation with handset giant Motorola is making only 1000 units of this elite mobile. It is tagged as the V3i Dolce & Gabbbana Limited Edition, so how does this compare to the normal RAZR? Well obviously it is in gold [they are calling it Liquid Gold ; but hey I can call black as Pubic hair black can't I?]. It comes with custom D&G Background and Screensaver, Custom Startup and Shutdown tunes. A special Polytone [What the F*ck haven't they heard of MP3 tones? For Pete's sake it's almost 2006 already!]. And a Video Clip of D&G's 20 year history. It also features a personal serial number engraved on the mobile... and the only way to get this exclusive mobile is by booking it [that means you have to reserve it]. Is this all? Well of course not! The lads at Motorola beefed up the specifications of their ultra slim wonder... i

Review|pRSSreader v1.2

[pRSSreader v1.02: Freeware RSS Reader!] Category: Software - RSS Reader Platform/OS: Windows Mobile Pocket PC/WM2003SE Cost: Freeware Author: David Andrš Website: http://pda.jasnapaka.com/ -- RSS [Real Simple Syndication] has been really big! Well if you're a geek like me you like to be ' In the Know '... RSS gives us information at the tip of our fingers [or in this case stylus]. For more info on RSS click here . -- I discovered pRSSreader while browsing SBSH.net's PocketBreeze Forum I was looking at different RSS readers for my PocketPC and have been looking to purchase a particular kind when someone posted about pRSSreader... so I decided to take a look. Conspiracy Theory|The Chappelle Theory

[Tyrone Biggums, Crack Addict: One of Chappelle's many characters] -- Happened by this website tonight... a very interesting [albeit long read]. -- Basically it is a conspiracy theory about Dave Chappelle's fall from grace. Here's an excerpt from the site. "This account of Dave Chappelle's fall from grace has been pieced together by me, a retired public relations executive who wishes to remain anonymous. my contacts, many of whom were closely related to the individuals involved, enabled me to fairly accurately recount the events that took place. You can take this for what you wish, but it is the truth — the abhorrent byproduct of the industry I used to hold to such a high esteem. I have written this account without the need for embellishments or exaggerations for the truth is appalling enough. Let this site serve as a drawn curtain to the entertainment industry which is blindly adored by the entire world." The ' Black Crusaders ' which are creditted

Where is that Christmas Feeling?!

Hmm... just a few days to go before Christmas... but I don't feel it. Maybe it's because I'm thinking of so many things... I haven't done any shopping this year maybe I'll get presents after Christmas to avoid the crowds. Maybe I'll buy stuff when I'm in HK this January... Who am I kidding I always buy stuff in HK, come to think of it I tend to do most my shopping when I'm there. I rarely buy anything here in Manila. Anyway I better get some shut eye... long day tomorrow and a lot of work to be done!

Mobile Blogging

Was over at the Windows Mobile website and there was a tip there about mobile blogging. -- Well the MMS route did not work... probable cause for failure is Globe's MMS service doesn't send to email addresses. -- I did try sending an email to my mail-to-blogger address and that worked! Well since my PocketPC supports POP3 and Google Mail works with it I guess I could post via my email. -- Pretty neat! [Update: Ok posting via email on my Pocket PC works [for text anyway]. Images were not posted though... Hmmm well I guess this would have to do.

Review|King Kong (2005)

Category: Movies Genre: Adventure/Drama Peter Jackson's Interpretation of King Kong -- This movie is too friggin' long IMO. To me there were a lot of unnecessary scenes that we [the audience] could have done without. I can't help but feel that PJ was still in his LotR mode [each movie in the LotR trilogy were notoriously long as well]. Either that or he was pushing his effects team to new limits and showcasing what they could do. Mind you the effects on this movie were top notch and I'm not taking anything away from them. My impression of this adaptation of King Kong was that PJ wanted the audience to empathize with the beast and not fear it. This couldn't have been done any better and by the end of the movie you would almost be rooting for the big ape [well I was] but we all know how the story goes and this movie is no different [thank the maker!]. What I didn't like about the film was the excessive scenes in SKULL ISLAND . I would have appreciated it more if t

Review|Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Category: Movies Genre: Fantasy This movie is the 4th Movie in the Harry Potter series -- Can't beleive that it took me so long to watch this movie. I liked it. Although I did feel that the movie sort of chopped off a lot from the novel [ Potter -heads chime in as I am not so sure], just can't put my 'wand' on it. Among the 4 movies so far... I like this the most yes it has the same class of effects [ brilliant is an apt word] but I feel that this one really shows how the characters have grown and continue to grow thru the story line. -- One thing that bugged me since the 3rd installment of the series [Prisoner of Azkaban] is that the actors/actresses don't look their age [they should be what 10 or 12...?] but it beats having a whole new set of actors/actresses to do the each movie.
