Early Early Bird

Went to the cemetery today to pay my respects to my Lolo. Went a few days ahead because we wanted to steer clear of the hordes of people that would be going on the 1st of November.

Birthday Thoughts...

Hmmm okay today I'm 26 years old na! Hmmm so far the day seems to be ok. Lot's of greets came in over the night [some numbers my PPC Phone didn't recognize: frustrating!] a lot more greets this am. Been busy replying to email and sms greets. Of course I had 'misua' for breakfast with matching 1 piece hard boiled egg [this meal is for luck] anyway I hope it comes soon [been having shit for luck at work lately]. Anyway was also thinking when and where I'd be holding my Birthday bash. Usually me and Mabs do it together since our birthdays are close [10/17 is Mabs' Birthday]... he's still looking for a venue. Anyway would like to thank everyone who greeted me today [in no particular order]: -- Mom, Ama, Aunt Susan Sy, Aunt Grace Sy, Ivy Sy, Ken Sy, Rosalie C, Lito P, Alice Ng, Joanna Dy, Sharon Tan, Badong, Racso, Ira, Lo, Jek, Jonella, Sy, Tiana, Veran, By, Chi, Uncle Roger, Shobe Cat, KB, Peachy Geluz, Sheilah, Bel, Mich, Coby, Diana, Steph del Rosario, Fo

PocketBlogger v1.1

Thanks to BTT's K-JAM Blog I found this blogging tool. Pretty straight forward UI. Although the application needs more work as the POST box [where you write your post] is partially hidden by the SIP. It makes posting harder. I think Diarist has posting patted down. Pocket Blogger needs a bit more work.

Underground Economy is Boomin'

Just got back from renewing my Driver's License. The underground economy at the LTO [Land Transportation Office] is definitely booming. Suffice to say it took me around 2 hours to get my ID card. Last year I did it the 'right' way and it took me 4 hours. So I guess even if I did feed the hungry maws of corruption at least I saved some time. This is my 4th time I went to the LTO to get a license [or renew it] and well my weight is still the same as in '97 [I was 75kg then] the funny thing is well the weight scale had my weight at 58kg, the medical examiner put 60kg on my documents, I guess the encoder doesn't bother reading the damned thing anyway. Of course with my vision [my grade is 900(left) and 1000 (right)]the 'doctor' put in FIT TO DRIVE after I barely read the letter rows. The drug test consisted of me peeing in the plastic cup [unsealed mind you] and getting the results as I gave them the specimen. I guess paying for all these things will put some

Review|Shivers (2005)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Armin van Buuren -- Armin van Buuren ranked #3 in the Top 100 DJ rankings. With his second album he shows us why he's among the best DJs in the world. van Buuren is a definite force in Trance music. I particularly like Wall of Sound, Shivers, Who is Watching, Bounce Back, Control Freak, and Serenity -- [click image for more info/tracklist]

Review|Defected: Bob Sinclar In The House[UK](2005)

Category: Music Genre: Dance & DJ Artist: Various Artists [mixed by Bob Sinclar] Bob Sinclar [Sinclair] (aka Chris LeFriant) the Frenchman is out with his 3 Disc Mix CD. This compilation is filled with old and new House tracks. It travels the spectrum from Funky/Disco House, to Jazz Infused and to Tribal and Latin House. LeFriant has been quoted as saying: "You must make dance ze people." with this release he most certainly will. So far my fav tracks are: Jealousy, Not Too Shabby, The Beat Goes On, Summer Moon, Love Generation . -- [Click image for more info/tracklist]

Some Sanity

Ok finally been able to setup my notebook again [promise di na ko mag kegaw sa registry]! Now I've to hunker down and get back to important work lot's of reports to finish up. Finished listening to my Star Wars Sith Lords Audio Book KEWL! Also was able to borrow some new novels from Ven [the titles escapes me right now]. Oh well back to work!

Tech Troubles Continue...

Hahaha my notebook crashed again over the weekend and had to be reformatted again!!! Bwahahaha KE GAW kasi... The problem started when I began fiddling with some values in the registry haha oh well I guess I won't be doing that again hahaha! I'd like to thank Chi for being patient and rebuilding my notebook. :)

What are you listening to???

Lately I've been looking for songs to add to my ACP re-connect playlist. It should be a fusion of Trance, Dance, and House. Currently I have 50 tracks on my playlist. I would list them here but I am too lazy to type it all down. Windows Media Player doesn't seem to have a tool/utility to export the tracks [i.e. titles and artists] of playlists generated on it. Maybe it's time to look for a work around for this. Here's a screenie of my PocketPC playing the first track on my playlist. I think this is a fitting first track for my playlist [hey if Team Kandi used it for their first song in DiscoHeaven '05 I might as well follow their lead right?], I also hear that this track had a massive reception in Ibiza this year. I'm not really suprised this uplifting tune will surely get any party started IMO. -- -- Bob Sinclair ft. Gary Pine - Love Generation

Stress

This week is shaping up to be a pretty stressfull week. Over the weekend my notebook died on me and now that I have finally been able to setup my new notebook... I thought I could take a break and relax awhile but alas I've been flooded with work. -- Game 2 for the UAAP Men's Basketball Finals will be held later at Araneta [4pm]. Wasn't able to get tickets so I'll be relying on SMS reports [since I can't watch TV here at the office]. I really hope La Salle extends the series. Animo La Salle. -- Back to work for now...

Playing with Object Dock

-- Been playing around with Stardock's ObjectDock [Freeware version] -- It places a dock with shortcuts on your desktop! Really cool [it gives it sort of a mac feel]. It is also very customizable: you can choose which application shortcuts to place on the dock and you can also change the icons.

The Lemon

Over the weekend my notebook went dead on me! Yep you read it right after 2 weeks the damned thing went crazy and it would not boot up! At first we thought it was a driver issue with XPSP2 and the ATI X600 card but when we took it to the shop even they couldn't figure it out! The re-seller told Chi that this was the First LEMON [n.b. defective units are usually refered to as Lemons] for this type/config of notebook... Wahhhh!!! Anyway took it to the shop yesterday morning and was supposed to have it replaced. The shop didn't have stocks of the exact same notebook and I was offered a low-end replacement [DL71] while they waited for the stocks [3 to 4 days] or I could get a brand new notebook with a different brand [MSI] and just add some cash. At first I was really pissed off I mean I had the damned notebook for like 2 weeks pa lang. I guess that's what you get when you buy whitebox notebooks :( My options were 2 NEO Q-Notes [whitebox also] and a MSI notebook... Anyway after

Dinner with Blockmates

Had dinner and a few drinks with our blockmates over at Maestro it was nice seeing everyone again. Pity a lot of people couldn't go. I think by far though this has had the most attendance hahaha. I guess people are really busy... So as promised here are the pics that I took. By the way to those who brought cameras you might want to upload the pics as well... Wala kami sa mga kuha ko e!!! :o) -- [click image for online album]

Bluetooth Powah!!!

Finally got Bluetooth working on my Notebook! Woopee! I've paired my Smartphone [Motorola MPx 220], my Pocket PC Phone [i-mate JAM], and my Headset [Motorola HS820]. -- I was supposed to buy a new Bluetooth dongle for my notebook as my old one [MSI PC2PC Bluetooth USB] was not working well with my notebook and XP SP2 [it worked ok on my desktop, which had the software first before getting SP2]. Well I was able to find the CDROM for the BT dongle [the MSI website doesn't have the software anymore]. I did not install any application though. I'm using Micosoft's default BT stack and the MSI drivers. Hmmm... I've to test it out some more although honestly I use BT mainly for Activesync and sending files over from one device to the next. -- Really happy that I can now Activesync wirelessly [and therefore have net access on my PPC as you know I've sold my 256Mb + WiFi SD Card] and since the notebook is just arms length from my bed [which I'm on most of the time] I
