Party Report|WWW pts. Tiësto ISOS 5 Manila Tour

Last night [Friday 3/31/06] Tiësto rocked the roof off the PICC Forum!
--
Venue/Parking: The PICC Forum was big a spacious, the setup was really nice Tiësto's booth was awesome much better than other DJ's I've seen. Parking was not as well lit as you'd like, actually it was really dark... was cheap though PhP30 for the 1st 3 hrs and 10 per succeeding.

Ticket Price/Entrance Procedure: PhP 900.00 for pre-solds PhP 1000 for regular tickets. VIP is at PhP 15,000. We got pre-solds 3 weeks ago... hey it's Tiësto! The entrance procedure was pretty decent when we got there [11pm] they even had metal detectors and an xray machine. Now that's secure

Music/DJ: When we got there DJ Marie Garcia was finishing her set [sayang... :(] Manolet Dario went on deck next and he spinned til around 1am. Now Tiësto is a 3x World Number 1 DJ [he was awarded this 3 years in a row], and he didn't dissapoint I like his song selection and the way he mixes and delivers his songs. Of course Trance and vocal trance really gets me ippity uppity! Was even interviewed by MYX [not sure if they will be showing it though] about Tiësto and his music.

Visuals/Decor: WWW [world Wide Womb] went all out for the décor and the lights and the sounds! Very very very nicely done. The laser lights were awesome!!!

Crowd: Manila's party boys and girls came out of the wood work last night. Let's keep it real! BIGFISH was wrong to make an event on the same night as Tiësto's... sure enough when we passed by on our way to and from PICC; the WTC seemed like a ghost town. Last night there was only one party! Basically if you know anything about dance music you'd be at Tiësto.

Drinks: Suprisingly water was cheaper here than in POD2... KEWL! PhP50 it was very hard to get drinks though.

Security: Bouncers galore inside. Security guards on the gates. Basically they were ready... which is a good thing!

Verdict: Ok for now this is the event to beat! Manila will never be the same again! Tiësto is the real deal!!! Say it with me: Tiësto, Tiësto, Tiësto, Tiësto, Tiësto!!!

Special Thanks to Tiu for taking over photo and video duties!

Darth Kegaw to Treo 750: It is Useless to Resist

I have never been one to keep my devices *as is* when it comes to the OS/Firmware… This 2nd Treo 750 will be no different. So I dusted off my old Cheetah files [trivia: the Treo 750 is codenamed HTC Cheetah] and decided to HARD SPL [this allows for non-carrier branded ROMs to be loaded] and flashed it to a Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen… and the ROM loaded without any issues. I did notice that Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 was not included in this ROM not really a problem since I own the software as well.  I’m currently syncing my PIM data and will be installing my apps over the next few days.

Elopocalypse or Balmergeddon

So which is it? Nokia (NOK) and Microsoft (MSFT) announced a partnership today. Both lumbering companies have been in some trouble with their smartphone divisions. Both have been loosing market share to Apple, Android and Blackberry in recent years. WindowsMobile (previously PocketPC and currently WindowsPhone) once the dominant mobile OS, yes folks before the iPhone came into power Microsoft slowly but surely killed of it’s main competitor palm OS, which was acquired by hp last year and is now barely a sliver of a shadow of it’s former former former self. Just this week hp/palm unveiled 2 new smartphones the palm Pre 3 and Veer, as well as their entry into the tablet space with the TouchPad. hp being one of the top computer manufacturers at the moment has the resources to use and spread webOS like a creamy peanut butter across all markets they are in. By being one of MSFT’s biggest customers now suddenly not using Windows7 (still MSFT’s tablet OS of choice) and churning out comp...
