Will be getting my eyes tested on Monday to determine if I'd be eligible for Laser corrective surgery. The battery of tests are quite long (3 hours) and I'd be undergoing heavy dilation which means blurred vision for 24 hours. To be honest I'm a bit nervous that I'd fail the tests and will be stuck wit poor vision for life. Bought a Colorsplash Flash for my Holga135. It's a bit of a tight fit and scratching could occur with repeated insertion and removal of the flash. Well the simple solution was to put a strip of band aid on the part that comes into contact with the winder :-) of course I used a thin strip of star wars band aid for this mod. Finally... Bny is going to BORACAY!!! <ala The Rock> ;-) -- Tomorrow I'm ditching 1 day of work to go to Boracay with some friends. It'll be the 1st time, hopefully not the last time, that I'll be going to the famed party island. It's also the 1st time I'll be going on a domestic flight in the Philippines and the 1st time in 2 years that I'll be going to the beach again. IIRC the last time I encountered sun & surf was at Bel's La Union crib in 2006. -- Mango shake! Mango shake! My tummy was rumbling from watching all the cooking shows on the telly... So I decided to raid the cupboard. I wanted something hot to soothe my odd houred hunger. I set my eyes on a pack of Lucky Me Beef Mami. Since I was in a hurry I decided to cook it cup noodles style instead of on the stove. Well after putting the noodles in a bowl I realized that there was no flavour pack! This reminded me so much of Elars' experience with McDonald's - yep, they ran out of burgers and By's similarly mind boggling experience at Max's Fried Chicken - and yes they were all out of chicken. WTF! Instant Noodles without flavouring!!! I scoured the fridge for something to fix this mess. Found some XO sauce and decided to go with that, drained the water and put generous amounts of XO sauce and ate. While I was eating though I couldn't help but think that I should've eaten pancit canton instead. There were 5 or 6 packs of pancit canton and 1 pack of beef mami, what are the chances ...

Our Toshiba HD-DVD player is here... Hooked it up to the box in our TV room. I must say it's a really nice visual experience even though our TV maxes out at 1080i only. We got 2 HD flicks free. 300 and Bourne Identity of course I'm watching 300. Audio wise I am relying on TV's mediocre speakers. We need an amplifier and maybe atleast a 5.1 setup. So I was sick for most of last week did nothing but sleep, eat, and drink water. Unlike most folks who get sick: who loose weight. I gain a few pounds (went up to 118 lbs). Now that I've recovered from the nasty bug I go back to my old weight (115 lbs) in just a couple of days. My appetite is back so it's kinda weirding me out. I know they say lack of sleep can dramatically affect your weight but I've only been up late for the last 3 or 4 days. I'm not feeling ill though so I suspect my sudden weight gain might have been just water weight from all the fluids I drank during my battle with the bug. I really should try and go back to working out... I think that'd increase my appetite some more and maybe even tire me out earlier so I don't keep on burning the midnight oil. Now the hard part is getting over the laziness hump... I'm setting a new goal 125 lbs by the end of February. I've lost or forgotten most of the exercises we did when we were working out m...

Here I go again. We've moved to a new town house... No more devil birds (roosters). Yet sleep as it seems, is starting to dodge me again. After being sick last week, I'm back! Still have just a tiny bit of cough but overall I'd say I'm at 95%. I wonder what I'm supposed to do here at the office though... the factories in China have either frozen over or have gone on their annual CNY [that's Chinese New Year] break. I do hope my orders comes in on time. More importantly that people stay calm over there. I've seen stampedes in the news. Spending the holidays in hospital is not a good way to welcome the year of the rat.

My CBC (Complete Blood Count) results are in and after a quick consult with Doc Elars and the verdict: Dengue free! I am slightly hypochromic, which Elars explained as lacking in iron but not excessively so. Since I had my blood sucked I also asked for a typing test, since I've long forgotten my blood type. I'm B Positive not that my blood is any good for donating with my hepatic history and all, I guess I just wanted to know. Come to think of it I am feeling much better after finding out that I'm Dengue free... must be psychosomatic. Now on antibiotics to finish of this nasty bug which I picked up last weekend.
