WindowsPhone7 Launch FAIL

Microsoft puff piece for WindowsPhone7 at least this time they admit that Filipinos CANNOT purchase apps yet.

However, Philippines-based users of the WP7 will not be able to download applications from the Windows Phone Martketplace as it is not yet available in the country.

No word yet on when this will be rectified. Clearly Microsoft is blundering their WindowsPhone7 launch outside the US. If the only thing you can boast about is Facebook integration then there is something very wrong with your platform. Everyone know’s it’s currently an app centric battle. Most smartphones from other platforms have similar specs. Right now it is the apps that makes the difference and yet a lot of countries (including our 3rd world country of course) cannot purchase apps. What the hell are the people at MSFT Philippines doing? May be it is time to get your thumbs out of your assess and push for the Philippines to be taken seriously by MSFT Global?

Apple has been selling apps since they began selling the iPhone officially. This shows that it can be done. Frak, even Samsung is able to sell apps on their BADA platform.

A huge corporation can’t go to the telcos and countries and demand the same or similar deal for Apple? What Microsoft doesn’t have the clout? Microsoft just sabotaged their own product by not having an ecosystem in place. Nice job dorks.

Original Puff piece is here.
