Party Report|Calypso Events pts. Ferry Corsten LEF

--
Christmas Day, Manila. Ferry Corsten rocked the socks of everybody at the WTC!
--
Venue/Parking:
World Trade Center in Pasay. By far my fave venue in Manila. Again we came early around 11pm and the parking wasn't full yet still 30PhP... It seemed to me and my friend Tiu that this was a mistake and that we would be bored shitless for a whole night... thankfully we were wrong!

Not too many people were in line so we weren't hassled that much, besides we got comp VIP tickets hehehe. Come to think of it there weren't too many people at the whole event at all... BIG MISTAKE FOOLS!!!! FERRY DISHED OUT AN AWESOME SET!!! Not that the venue was empty or anything like that but it wasn't as packed as other events I've been too. Still this has it's upsides like not being too hot and crowded.
--
NOTE: My friend Marc was able to hook us up with the free passes, oh yeah he also gave me a ride home hehehe! Thanks CRAM! Special Thanks to Tiu, Moj, Jorell, Cram et al for looking out for me :P

Music/DJ:
When we got in DJ Marie Garcia was on the decks, and she wasn't dishing out her usual house tunes though I was really surprised when she played Lethal Industry [I thought it was Flight 643, thanks anonymous reader for the correction], after a few more tracks the lights dimmed a bit more. The graphics changed and bam! Ferry Corsten was let loose upon Manila! Ferry Corsten is a great DJ/Producer!!! I really liked his set it was a mix of his newer singles [and sound] with some of the classic trance tracks that we all loved back in the day! At first I was worried that it would be more geared to the Electro or House style, not saying I don't like those styles it's just that I prefer Trance... :P Well it was uplifting Vocal Trance mixed with his newer dirtier sound suffice to say that Ferry did not disappoint! Out of the Blue was played back to back with Walhalla, it's nice I like, why not?! These two tracks made my night actually. Seeing him play live was a great musical experience. A quality DJ through and through. Also of note is the graphics/light system and the sound system used for this event. Definitely top notch.
--
Trivia: Ferry Corsten is married to a Pinay! KEWL!
--
Drinks:
Water was at PhP100.00 a bit steep IMO.
--
Security:
Lot's of bouncers, Police, WTC Guards, and EMTs were present as well. I felt safe.
NOTE: we saw a guy being escorted by cops to a police van and taken away.
--
Verdict:
You can't keep a good DJ down! I think that even though the event wasn't packed it was still a success because of the quality of the DJ, venue, and people. I really had a blast and wish I took some pics but I was too busy having fun :o)
