Obviously I want to protect my brand new investment aside from the standard static screen protector I got a Brando Workshop XDA Executive Aluminum Case. Honestly it looks like a clone of PDAir's Aluminum Case [maybe they share the same factory?] anyway on with the review.

Of course it adds weight and bulk to an already huge device. Like other metal cases out there it is lined with neoprene which acts as an extra cushion and protection for your device.

This case has cutouts for all the basic functions and keys. You can use the case PDA mode or Notebook mode with the case. Take note you do have to open the top part for both modes. Anyway one of the things I noticed was that when the case is open you cannot use the USB port and Audio Jack naturally the top part of the case would sit and apply pressure on your earphones/usb cable/charger. Also it seems that these Brando cases have poor construction after a few minutes of using it I noticed that the clear plastic screen was caving in. I went back to the shop I bought it from and they replaced it but the replacement's screen was also caving in, I then got a leather case [also by Brando] which I returned the next day as it was even bulkier than the alum case. Anyway I got and am using the defective case for now, I am looking for a nice silicone case, and use it with a camera bag or something. This will do for the meantime.

It includes a removable belt clip.

Darth Kegaw to Treo 750: It is Useless to Resist

I have never been one to keep my devices *as is* when it comes to the OS/Firmware… This 2nd Treo 750 will be no different. So I dusted off my old Cheetah files [trivia: the Treo 750 is codenamed HTC Cheetah] and decided to HARD SPL [this allows for non-carrier branded ROMs to be loaded] and flashed it to a Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen… and the ROM loaded without any issues. I did notice that Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 was not included in this ROM not really a problem since I own the software as well.  I’m currently syncing my PIM data and will be installing my apps over the next few days.
