INC in the BOC

INC in the BOC

For the people, by the people is a myth. We live in a failed democracy, it's all an illusion. No different from president BS Aquino's mantra of "Daang Matuwid" (Straight Path).

No less than four (4) I would say highly placed government officials have pressured Sevilla to quit his post because the ex-chief of customs refused to give Atty. Raval the helm for the Bureau of Customs (BOC) intellectual property division, enforcement and security services (ESS).

The Raval appointment is being lobbied by Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), a popular religious group in the Philippines.

It is a fact that corruption is rampant within our government. It is also a fact that religious groups with their claims of a "bulk vote" can exert a lot of influence onto our morally ambiguous and power hungry politicians. So there are no surprises there.

My questions are...

1. Are the four cabinet dorks, members of INC? Did they act because they were instructed by the higher ups in government or by their religious leaders, maybe even both?

2. It is moot if the appointee got his post or not, but it would be good to find out if he is a member of INC as well would it not?

3. What interests are held dear by INC leadership or it's prominent members that would benefit from a grateful appointee in customs?

4. What will our government do about this shameful breach of ethics by these four douchebags masquerading as public servants?

BS Aquino needs to flush the four turds in his cabinet but don't bet on it. He is absurdly over protective of his cabinet, even if they are already failing him or giving him a worse image than the one he already has. This is great advertising for INC who's membership may yet grow once word spreads that they have the ear of highly placed officials. Let the vicious cycle continue. Move along, move along...

Darth Kegaw to Treo 750: It is Useless to Resist

I have never been one to keep my devices *as is* when it comes to the OS/Firmware… This 2nd Treo 750 will be no different. So I dusted off my old Cheetah files [trivia: the Treo 750 is codenamed HTC Cheetah] and decided to HARD SPL [this allows for non-carrier branded ROMs to be loaded] and flashed it to a Windows Mobile 6.1 ROM. Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen… and the ROM loaded without any issues. I did notice that Microsoft Voice Command 1.6 was not included in this ROM not really a problem since I own the software as well.  I’m currently syncing my PIM data and will be installing my apps over the next few days.

Elopocalypse or Balmergeddon

So which is it? Nokia (NOK) and Microsoft (MSFT) announced a partnership today. Both lumbering companies have been in some trouble with their smartphone divisions. Both have been loosing market share to Apple, Android and Blackberry in recent years. WindowsMobile (previously PocketPC and currently WindowsPhone) once the dominant mobile OS, yes folks before the iPhone came into power Microsoft slowly but surely killed of it’s main competitor palm OS, which was acquired by hp last year and is now barely a sliver of a shadow of it’s former former former self. Just this week hp/palm unveiled 2 new smartphones the palm Pre 3 and Veer, as well as their entry into the tablet space with the TouchPad. hp being one of the top computer manufacturers at the moment has the resources to use and spread webOS like a creamy peanut butter across all markets they are in. By being one of MSFT’s biggest customers now suddenly not using Windows7 (still MSFT’s tablet OS of choice) and churning out comp...
