What's Right With This Picture? Hands On With The Samsung U600

Usually when I blog on Fridays I'm at Starbucks theatermall and I take a snap of my mug while abusing my lungs outside. Since I'm on a reduction program I'm staying inside were there's no smoking.

[Samsung U600, Close but no cigar]
I was looking at some mobiles awhile ago. Was tempted to get Samsung's U600. It's a super slim 3.2MP slider the downside it's not 3G. Also the slider seemed suspect and was wobbly. Looks wise it's great features wise so so. A2DP worked but got disconnected when you tried to do something else. Silly beyond explanation... Using the wired headset you could go about the phone like normal. Samsung dropped the ball on this one and this and having slow 2G connection were the deal breaker for me. The sensor type softkeys were a bit over sensitive for my liking. Navigation was abit touch and go. As with all Samsung mobiles the camera was superb, built in mp3 player was also ok. Expansion is via microSD. Call quality was ok though. Is it worth the PhP 19K srp (Samsung warranty) or 15K gray market (no warranty) price tag? HELL NO. Fashion forward users might disagree but I'm a practical man, function over form.

Tips & Tricks|Orientation Aware Backgrounds

I just wanted to share some stuff I learned over at xda-dev's forum today.
--
Anyway as the title states this is about today themes and Orientation Aware Backgrounds. It's really quite simple
--
All you need is 2 images [3 if you want to change the Start Menu image as well] of the proper resolution.
--
QVGA:
tdywater_320_240.gif [Landscape Image] = 320 x 240 image
tdywater_240_320.gif [Portrait Image] = 240 x 320 image
stwater [Start Menu Image] = 190 x 290 image
--
VGA:
tdywater_640_480.gif [Landscape Image] = 640 x 480 image
tdywater_480_640.gif [Portrait Image] = 480 x 640 image
stwater [Start Menu Image] = 399 x 586 image
--
What you do is copy the files to \Windows directory and viola! Orientation Aware Backgrounds!
--
Notes: The theme's default images will be used once you switch themes. So you would need to copy the files back again to \Windows dir for it to work again, what I do is I have placed Wallpaper sets in ZIP files on my Storage Card so I can change and change as desired.…
